Works Begin

Private Water Infrastructure Works Underway in Dundonald

August 08, 2026•1 min read

We have started another private water infrastructure project this week, with our team mobilising to a site in Dundonald.

The project involves the installation of new water infrastructure to serve two water troughs within the site.

Our scope includes approximately 5m of excavation across the carriageway and a further 95m through the field. The excavation route has been designed to accommodate both the new water infrastructure and future electrical works, helping to coordinate the different utility requirements across the site.

Particular care is required where the route crosses existing trunk water mains, with hand excavation required in these areas to safely expose and work around the existing infrastructure.

Our works include excavation, installation and backfill/reinstatement, along with the traffic management required to safely carry out the carriageway works.

Delivering Private Water Infrastructure

Projects like this demonstrate the range of work undertaken by our directly employed WaterWise Utilities team.

From straightforward domestic connections through to longer private mainlaying and more complex infrastructure projects, our team can support clients through the practical delivery of their water requirements.

As a WIRS-accredited contractor, we have the experience and knowledge required to work safely around existing water infrastructure while coordinating with clients, utility providers and other parties involved in the project.

With this latest project now underway in Dundonald, it's another busy week for our teams across Scotland.
